Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups fresh watermelon, cut into chunks preferably seedless or with minimal seeds
  • 1 pinch sea salt optional, enhances flavor

  • Fine mesh sieve or strainer
  • Jug or glass container for serving

Method
 

  1. Place the watermelon chunks onto a cutting board and remove any seeds or large rinds using a sharp chef's knife. Transfer the prepared watermelon to your blender.

  2. Add a pinch of sea salt to the watermelon in the blender. Secure the lid firmly.

  3. Blend on high speed for about 30 seconds or until the mixture is completely smooth and velvety, with no large chunks visible. You should see a bright pink liquid with tiny seeds dispersed throughout.
  4. Place a fine mesh sieve or strainer over a large bowl or jug. Pour the blended watermelon through the sieve to remove seeds and fibrous bits. Use a spatula or the back of a spoon to gently press and extract maximum juice.
  5. Transfer the strained, bright pink watermelon juice into serving glasses. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 10 minutes to enhance refreshment. Serve cold, optionally garnished with a small watermelon wedge or mint sprig.
