Ingredients

  • 4 cups water preferably filtered
  • 2 sticks cinnamon whole cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract pure vanilla

Equipment

  • Medium saucepan
  • Stove

Method

  1. Pour water into a medium saucepan and place it on the stove over medium heat.
  2. Add the whole cinnamon sticks to the water, letting them sink and start to perfume the liquid as they warm up.
  3. Bring the water to a gentle simmer — you'll notice small bubbles forming around the edges and a fragrant aroma filling the air.
  4. Once simmering begins, carefully stir in the vanilla extract, allowing it to blend into the aromatic steam.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer gently, with steam still rising and the cinnamon releasing its oils, for about 20-30 minutes.
  6. Monitor the water level, adding a splash more if it evaporates too low, to ensure a continuous fragrant vapor.
  7. Remove the saucepan from heat once the aroma is warm and inviting, and the cinnamon has steeped thoroughly.
  8. Pour the aromatic water into mugs or small bowls to enjoy the cozy scent and warm atmosphere.

Notes

Feel free to add more vanilla or cinnamon to intensify the scent. Use filtered water for a clearer aroma and enhance the sensory experience.
