Method
- Using a sharp knife on a clean cutting board, roughly dice the watermelon into irregular chunks, allowing some seeds to remain visible for texture. Collect the cubes in a large mixing bowl.
- Slice the peaches into uneven, rustic pieces, leaving the skin on if preferred. Add the sliced peaches to the bowl with the watermelon.
- Juice the lime using a hand citrus press or juicer, collecting approximately 2 tablespoons of lime juice. Pour the lime juice over the fruit mixture.2 cups watermelon, cubed
- Rip the fresh mint leaves with clean hands or cut roughly with kitchen scissors and sprinkle over the fruit. Add a quarter teaspoon of salt directly onto the mixture.2 cups watermelon, cubed
- Gently toss all the ingredients together with a large spoon or spatula, ensuring the lime juice and salt coat the fruit evenly. Observe the mixture as the juice slightly pools and the colors become more vibrant.
- Serve immediately in bowls, allowing the juices to run and the fruit to retain its fresh, messy appearance with dribbles of juice and scattered seeds visible.
Notes
For added flavor, refrigerate the salad for 10 minutes before serving. Adjust salt and lime juice to taste.
